Series

RED FIGURES

Are our bodies like clothing that we wear, remove, and cast aside – yet are they not the sole vehicles of expression? Do our bodies make us what we are? In this series, I explore the body as separate from the self, and the voids that haunt the spiritless shell.

CUPS & TUBES

What makes a person? When we look upon an object, what makes us identify it as having a self, an identity, a personality? This series explores minimizing the features of the human form until it no longer registers as being a person – and so far, the minimum requirements of that identification continue to be challenged. Clearly, a head is not needed.

SPIRIT

This exploration of the human experience separates the idea of spirit from the body that holds it, so that body and spirit may play as companions. What is the light, the spark of spirit? Is it the self, or is it only made real by the body that surrounds it?

RAINBOWS

In this series I imagine rainbows as a physical, expressive substance, not ethereal, not distant and untouchable, but a tangible material that is extruded from its source.
